Empowering Lives, One Story at a Time
Impact Stories
We value supporting a variety of organizations that effectively impact lives in healthy and healing ways. Here are their stories.

We first met Eric in 2019 at a veteran’s event shortly after his return from Iraq. Three years later, he applied for a service dog as he moved into a new place and sought help with PTSD symptoms. Drawn to the energy of border collies, we found a suitable match from Northern California Border Collie Rescue. After passing all tests, Eric and Simon will graduate together on Oct 21st.

We presented a $10,000 grant to Saving Gracie specifically for the Maverick Veterinary Surgery Service (MVSS). To fund veterinary services for veterans and their companion animals.
Melanie Reagan, President, and Cindy Baldwin, Secretary, were both excited and moved at the prospect of knowing what this grant will do for a veteran who cannot afford veterinary service for their animal. Thank you Sandy Bishop and your organization for what you do.

I was inspired by Colonel Rubin’s story and established The Colonel’s Kennels. Since receiving a grant from the Foundation I have been able to expand my operation and give more dogs to more vets and with PTSD. Even more, the love and support I’ve gotten from the foundation has provided invaluable insights and helped me hone my mission to help more people.

“I’ve struggled with PTSD and Spartacus has opened my world. I feel safe to go for walks, hikes and be out in public with Spartacus by my side.”
